The Statute of Sapienza has recognized Departments as playing a leading role in the structure of the University.
Departments are primary structures responsible for the organization and management of research and teaching activities.
They manage financial resources through which they define recruitment needs and approve requests for public competitions and professor appointments. The departmental bodies are the Department Board, the Director, and the Executive Committee.
